Back in summer 2023 I had the foresight to take a course, “Becoming,” with UK poet Camilla Nelson. My first finished project from that course, “Hands,” is my first virtual, interactive poem.
“Hands” is a poem and also a sound board – find your way through three levels of poetic play: first, find all the eyes in order to move to the next level (or feel free to experiment until you’re ready to move on); then, catch yourself some snacks (in the form of randomized lines), and finally, encounter the raccoon on your evening walk through the city.
You can play “Hands” and explore poems from other participants over at Singing Apple Press.

One response to “Play “Hands: An Interactive Poem,” over at Singing Apple Press!”
What a joy to live in Jennifer Baker’s visual poem for awhile… I replayed it several times, loved the sombre, yet bright palette; the word choice; the generous, refreshing “feel” of the river sounds and insects; all of it an interactive passport for us (& the raccoon) to explore the im-(&)-balance of animals living beside us in the city. -Lise R.
